The definition of science and superstition is not static

　　In contemporary context, “science” and “superstition” are often regarded as the concept of opposition.These two sometimes refer to real things, but on more occasions, they are actually evaluating things, and these evaluations are often affected by power in different cultural backgrounds.

　　The word “science” is often used as a positive evaluation of certain things in people’s daily context.In modern society, science and technology and material civilization are closely integrated, and science and technology (that is, the figurative form of science) have become a symbol of Western culture.As a result, science has gradually become a vocabulary representing high value and respect. When people want to praise something, they will associate it with science.

　　However, the definition of science and superstition is not static.Although some scholars tried to promote the essence of Confucianism, they regarded the yin and yang and five elements after the Tang and Five Dynasties as outdated things and classified them as superstitions.The views of these scholars are based on the perspective of Western culture to interpret Chinese traditional culture.
